I have some weird problems with my website and all I can come up with that it's related to the latest update.

Is it possible to re-run the update?

    Thanks,
    Paulien

      Hello Paulien

What sort of problems are you experiencing?

I would recommend that you check that all permissions for folders and files are correct.

If you haven't already you should also clear the cache. /core/cache
Although this can be done through the MODX Manager it is often better to do it manually over FTP or SSH.

You can re-upload the 'setup' folder from the installer and re-run it.

You should also check that all Packages are up to date: Extras > Installer > Package Management

These are all fairly general bits of advice though. If you provide more detail about the problems you are experiencing people might be able to provide more focussed, specific advice.

This document covers most of what you need to do for an upgrade: https://docs.modx.com/revolution/2.x/administering-your-site/upgrading-modx

Quite often, weirdness after an update is caused by a leftover cookie or something in the browser cache. Visit the site with your browser in incognito or private mode. If that fixes it, it's a browser cache or cookie issue.

          Hi Andy,
It seems the Property Sets aren't working well. We have a snippet call like this [[!ShowProducts@showbrackets]] in a resource, and the Property Set makes sure the right products show on the page. In this case brackets. This was working fine, and is still working fine on a "sister" website where we use similar coding for different products. The only thing I can come up with that changed, is updating Modx to 3.5.4 the other week.

            Hi Bob,
It didn't fix it... sad Still trying to figure it out though!
            Thanks as always,

I found this log in core/cache/logs. Does it relate to my issues maybe?

Yes, that suggests a couple of possibilities:

                1. You have an issue with file/folder permissions or ownership.

                2. You're out of disk space.

If ShowProducts is a snippet that has also been upgraded is it possible that it's default properties had been edited, rather than creating and editing an alternative property set, and that these properties were set back to the original defaults during the upgrade process?

You can unzip the modx-2.5.4-pl.zip installer and inside there (amongst other stuff!) you should find a folder called 'setup'. Upload this to the root level of the website and go to the url: http://www.yourdomain.com/setup.
