Hi,
i have been in the process over the weekend of starting to move my modX sites over to a new server. I have got only so far though, as now there seems to be a problem. Here is the process i have been through so far, and then error i get.
1. export modx tables from the DB (minus logs data)
2. download ftp copy of the site.
3. insert db tables onto my new server (phpmyadmin import)
4. Modify config file manger/includes/ with new database info
5. ftp the modx copy back up.
6. edit paths in config
So all as per the guide right?
now the two sites i have moved give me different errors, the first is when i want to create or edit a page, all i get instead of the editor + page details is a gibberish bit of php code (even though the rest of the interface works).
And the second site gives me an incorrect user / password when logging into the manager with the JS Messagebox containing gibberish javascript (and the user / pass are correct).
The sites work fine on the original server but seem to break on the new one.
Now my old server was a cpanel based shared host with UKHost4u, my new server is a dedicated box a client asked me to invest in which runs LXadmin HostInABox, the server is unmanaged and i have full control over it, but obviously this modX error has stumped me a little bit.
Edit: As per above i have now got past those errors, (seems my hardrive is dying on my pc and corrupted some files =( ). Anyway now all i get is blank pages even though content is in the editor.
The site is www.rgpublishing.com, even though that does not help really.
