Hello,
I tried to use the sortby with pdoFetch but impossible to make it work whereas it works with usual PDOQuery. I have a user table with column continent and country. I want to order by continent and then country name. I made several tries like:

$pdo = $modx->getService('pdoFetch');
$countries = $pdo->getCollection('scCountries',array(),
    array('sortby' => '{"continent":"ASC","country":"ASC"}'));

or

$pdo = $modx->getService('pdoFetch');
$countries = $pdo->getCollection('scCountries',array(),
    array('sortby' => 'continent,country'));

but impossible to have anything sorted.
Thanks for your help!

The doc for pdoFetch are pretty sparse, but it looks like this is the form:

array(
   'sortby' => 'continent',
   'sortdir' => 'asc',
);

pdoFetch is somewhat barebones. It may not be capable of sorting by more than one field.

With xPDO, it would be something like this:

$c = $modx->newQuery('scCountries');
$c->sortby('continent', 'ASC');
$c->sortby('country', 'ASC');
$result = $modx->getCollection('ssCountries', $c);

Unfortunately I followed the documentation and it doesn't sort my results. Even on only 1 column. Well I wanted to use pdoTools instead of xPDO for speed and the use of the parser but it seems that xPDO still offers more possibilities for querying ;-)

Thanks for your answer.
