Some days ago a thread about
easy synching the remote database with the local one was started. Essentially, we were searching some way to simplify the development process, letting us work on the local side and quickly and effortlessly transfer the changes made through the MODx manager to the remote counterpart. This can be done in some ways for the filesystem stuff, but we still have no simple and straightforward methods to accomplish it for the database stuff.
I’m very happy to announce that
thanks to shamblett work, with Auditor 1.2 (just released two days ago), this sort of thing is very close to be done.
But we still need someone taking initiative, and create some kind of litte tool (the best would be a MODx module, but for start even a rough php cgi script could do the job...) which should retrieve information from the history database (used by Auditor 1.2) and generate the corresponding database queries or something like that (e.g. database abstracted commands via the MODx db API).
The relevant posts are this one (shamblett’s announcement of the release of the great Auditor 1.2, well suited for this purposes):

...and this one (my rough sketch of the second piece of the puzzle):

If you can help, we’re waiting for you.
