Patching 2.3.3 to 2.5.2 - missing features?

Hi.
I did the security patch from 2.3.3 to 2.5.2, but I guess the patch updates the vulnerable files only and does not include the full feature set of 2.5.2, considering no database patch is included?
If so, do I need to do a full upgrade to get all the latest features of 2.5.2?

I haven't looked into the patch but that is the exact and correct purpose of a patch. So yes you need to upgrade to reap the benefits of 2.5.2
