    Hello!

I am using for quite a long time the 2fcms which is quite similar with php nuke, just more safe.

Now I am planig to change to MODx, all I have seen till now about it is really fantastic.
The problem for me now is, that I will have to build up my old site in MODx.

You can find my running site at: http://www.risingdarkness.de

There is a news module running with an archive where you can select according to month and to topics, a reviews module where you can see the 10 most actual reviews on the first page and the rest in an alphabetical archiv system. You can click on an letter and you will see all reviews belonging to this letter.

There is also an event calendar and some sort of team introduction and a photo gallery on.

So I wanted to start with building a site similar to my old on in MODx and I would beg you to tell me if I am doing right.
I did not create a own template, thats a thing I wanted to do after I built the structure of the page, CSS wont be a great problem for me.

The first thing I started with is, that I went into the manager and started building folders with the name "reviews", "news", "interviews", "live" and so on.

Under the "news" folder I made some more folders for different news categories like "tourdates" or "siteupdates" and "news".

Into those folders I will now create the documents with the content.
As I can give every folder a different template and this template is used as standard for all child documents I think it will be the easiest way to get all the formats for the news and different formats for the reviews, etc. into a special template which I will use than for all documents in the folder.

If I am doing right this way and there is no better way than I would beg you to help me with the following:

How can I get an alphabetical arrangement and the 10 newest reviews on the first page of the reviews like on my old site here:
http://www.rdmag.de/magazine/load.php?name=Reviews and that I will have the alphabetical arrangement also when I will see all reviews for one letter.

    I found an example at:
    http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/pages/listpages-alphaview.action?key=revolution

but I am not able to built something like that. The only thing I found out is that it will bepossible with ditto and TVs.

I would be really happy if someone has an example or tipps for me!

    Best!

    martin
