I have a Revolution 2.5.1 install on my Mac using the MAMP stack to do some development work.

I cannot log into my manager screen. When I enter in my ID and password, the page just refreshes. I did a search on this forum and I see this is a fairly common occurrence. Has there been any definitive cause found for this?

The website itself works. I just cannot get into the back end. I believe this may have something to do with the fact that I did a hard restart on my Mac and my MAMP servers were running at the time.

I also created a fresh ModX installation on the same server, migrated my database and I can login. However, when I copy over the ModX files from my old install to the new, the login problem returns. So I suspect something is corrupted. I did delete all the cache files.

    Any ideas are appreciated.

might be a path issue in the core >> config >> config.inc file, check the paths and also try re running the installer in upgrade mode.

The next thing to try is clearing your browser cache and cookies. Also, check the MODX error log in (IIRC) core/cache/logs.

There was nothing wrong with the paths but doing an upgrade install fixed the login problem.

First thing I tried to was to clear my browser. Didn't work. Also, there were no errors in the log.

              Can confirm:

              1) The login problem is definitely caused by crashing or improperly shutting down the server. To test it, I did a hard re-boot of my computer and I could not login to Manager after a restart.

              2) The problem is solved by doing an upgrade install of Revolution. I used the same version of Revolution and followed the standard upgrade instructions. After doing so, I was able to access the Manager screens.

I just wanted to document this to help anyone else having this problem.

Unable to Login (Log in) to Revolution Manager. Manager page refreshes with no error messages.
