    Hello,

I’m looking to sale an item on a MODx site. There is no shipping. It looks like kiwee and gcart are my options. Both are feature rich. Can I utilize them without using all the features?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

you also have TeasureChest and FoxyCart to check out.
TreasureChest is free and easy to setup, but support Paypal only.

FoxyCart looks sweet but cost $15/M.

Yeh, I use Foxy Cart (http://www.foxycart.com) for all my e-commerce/MODx needs. It’s a very solid system and they just released an update last week making it even more of an amazing product.

@flinx mind if I ask how do you handle the $15/m with the client? Do you just forward it to them like hosing and gateways charges or what?
my ecommerce sites are powered using OSC but I really like the idea of using modx+foxycart instead because I’m much more of a MODXer than OSCer

            Hey Sinbad,

When you set Foxy Cart to live, you have to enter the client’s CC info then. So it’s just billed directly to their card monthly.

The beauty of it is that you don’t have to get a Secure Certificate (it’s all handled on FoxyCart), you don’t have to update for Security Patches (they handle that), and they’re PCI compliant which is awesome. So while you may initially think $15/month is a deterrent, the client is actually getting a lot for that price ... they could easily spend more than that to have their shopping cart updated for security patches and stuff. And the beauty of Foxy Cart is that the original designers are huge MODx users so they have a lot of great stuff for Foxy Cart + MODx implementation ... it will be a win-win situation for you and your client.

Thanks so much for the information. I’ll find out if my client wants to go with paypal only or not and then give foxycart or treasurechest a try.
