In Revo 2.5.1-pl, I cannot add a new user. When I do, I click Save, logout and try to login. Login Page says:

The username or password you entered is incorrect. Please check the username, re-type the password, and try again.

I logged back in as Admin, check the user - he is not there!

I added again, went back to the Dashboard and still not there.

This is critical as this user is a Content Editor and is chomping to login to edit content.

These are the steps we follow:
    1) Settings -> Access Control -> New User Group
    2) Select "Manager Policy" -> Content Editor
    3) Right Click - Update User Group
    4) Add Context -> Manger (mgr), Minimum Role: Member, Access Policy: Content Editor
    5) Manage -> Users -> New User: name, email and Password
    6) Access Permissions -> Add User to Group just created
    7) Add to group, Role: Member

    Save of course.

Did you create the user's password yourself? MODX is very finicky about which characters can be used in passwords. Try using just alphanumerics and make sure the password is at least 8 characters long.

Thank you for the helpful reply, very much appreciated.

        We actually solved this.

2 issues; no $ in passwords (4got about this) AND password length.

Modx just puts red line around offending areas on the form which we did not notice - stupidity on our part really.

Tx for the pointers, they have been added to our "gotcha db".

Now struggling with interface to allow editors to edit content without having to click TV Tab.
