    Hi,

I have tried to set up a user who is using one of the new TLDs - .technology.

    So their email address is:

    [email protected]

But the user manager is giving me the following error:
This field should be an e-mail address in the format "[email protected]"

Is there any way to update the allowed email address formats?

    Thanks
    Andy

Unfortunately, that error message is coming from Ext-all.js.

The address is failing to pass the regex in the Ext-all.js code:

To solve it, you'd have to use another method to check the email address that doesn't involve ExtJS.

What are you using for the email form (SPForm, FormIt, something else)?

        Hmm thanks bob.
I'm only using it for the backend editors so they can update the blog.
Strange thing is I seem to be able to create the user as admin and it allows it. But if the user tries to update their profile they cannot save it due to the email address.

I'm using Login on the front end for users to register.

Seeing as there are tons of these new tlds out there, it really needs to be updated somehow?

Is there no way I can hack it for now?

Aha! I hadn't noticed but I'm on 2.5.0. I will try the upgrade. Thanks for the tip!

I upgraded to 2.5.1 and now the users can use non-standard TLDs such as /technology.
              Thanks for your help!
