    Hi

Ok this is very strange, I installed modx under "http://mydomain.com/public"

I created a ".htaccess" under "http://mydomain.com/public" with the following content
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /public
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]

If I go to "Tools-->Configuration" and set "Use friendly URLs" to "NO"
    Friendly URL works fine!.

However if I set "Use friendly URLs" to "YES", Friendly does not work.

It seems that the options are reserved, why is that?

Can you describe what does and does not work about them? I cannot replicate this; when I turn it off, friendly urls are no longer generated in my pages, and when on they are generated as proper friendly urls.

        Ok here is what happens
if i turn "friendly URL" on, via modx control panel, some pages will load with friendly url (ie pagealias.html), while others will receive an error! (ie modx loads error page content for friendly url page instead of the actual page).
if i turn "friendly URL" off, everything works fine (i.e all pages loads with friendly URL), no problem at all.

Are you using friendly url alias paths?

If so, put <base href="[(site_url)]" /> in to your template head section.
