I installed MODx Revolution 2.5.1 onto my web host server using a sub domain for development purposes (development.my-domain.com/new-modx-site). Having built up the site, it was time to move it to the addon domain's root folder in the shared host environment in order to now make the site live. However this was some kind of temporary url situation and couldn't for the life of me get the site to work.

Instead, i created another new folder in the root of the host account and moved the site to that instead and everything appeared fine at first (and then i could just change the root folder for the addon domain to the new folder i've now got the site working in). So basically i'm accessing the site at my-domain.com/new-modx-website.

However, after renaming the ht.access to to .htaccess and activating friendly url's in the manager, by clicking on any pages i now get a server response of page not found and the pages don't display for some reason. Also, the home page url ends with /#undefined and it's been like that since i first started ever building the site.

Is there perhaps something in the .htaccess file i've named wrong such as the domain name? should the references to the domain name be the actual url at present (like my-domain.com/the-modx-site) or should it be that of the real addon domain, i'm not sure..

If there's anyone who might be able to offer any input, help or advice then it would be much appreciated.

The goal is to a) be able to test that the site is working and that FURLs work correctly, and then b) point the domain name to the site so that it's live. I think i might need to use an updated hosts file to view the site as well before it's live?

Can you share your htaccess and site url?

Thanks to Zaigham who pointed out that within the .htaccess file the 'RewriteBase /' needed to reflect the sub folder MODx was installed in. for example

          RewriteBase / the-folder-for-my-addon-domain

Now FURLs are working but i still have this issue of the index page ending with /#undefined in the URL. I can't find a single piece of information anywhere about this and having tried everything i can think of, just cannot get rid of it. It only appears on the home page, all other pages are fine.
