You could just activate FURLS like described so that you will get http://80.224.118.151/~siteName/folder/document.html

yep but for some reason is does not work. The menu links get rewritten correctly but when i click on the links the pages do not load. The manager files also still link to the index.php?id=1 version and not the furl

I have never gotten these to work. There may be a way of configuring the .htaccess, but I’ve never been able to figure it out.

You have to create a .htaccess file with this content:

            RewriteEngine On
            RewriteBase /~siteName

            RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
            RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
            RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]

when you put it on the domain your content has to be like this:

            RewriteEngine On
            RewriteBase /

            RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
            RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
            RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]

              with regards,
