I've installed version 2.5.1 of MODx and after setting up a number of new pages / resources, i created two containing templates to hold the content which work fine. However, having then installed Articles in order to set up a basic blog, it appears impossible to change the templates that contain both the blog itself and individual articles/ blog posts.

But having tried all the suggestions i am still unable to change the templates (plus this thread is 4 years 6 months old so i'm sure the given issue in the post has long since been resolved by now?).
I have updated/ selected the templates to be used by Articles in both system settings and within Blog Admin but no matter what i try, the chosen templates do not appear, it still shows the default templates that ship with Articles.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated! thanks in advance for any info
