QuickEdit ("Edit button") works only for Manager users...

mmm..what if I want to allow a Web User to use QuickEdit? Is there any way? For example, as it is done on this forum. I’m able to QuickEdit my posts without being a Manager User (I’m just a Forum member). How can I do that on my website?

    Thanks.

Glad u got it to work....now you can move on to the next task wink . This aside, how’s your expedience so far with modx? Just curious smiley

Well, I haven’t gone through snippets and the like yet, so I let you know in a few days. So far I find it quite different from Drupal, what I like it’s that is really fast and smooth, and I guess it would be ok for small to medium size websites. I find a bit confusing to split users between Manage and Web, on Drupal you just have ’users’ and then assign them the permissions for everything, pages, modules, etc.. and the backend manager being like any other part of your web. I find that approach more straight forward.

Yes, there is a certain amount of dissatisfaction with the current user model in the 0.9.6 branch.

However, the original only had manager users, with no facility at all for web user authentication. The first time I looked at it (it was still the parent Etomite at that point, and MODx the Etomite extension package was just coming into version 2) I needed web login, and nearly passed it by, until I noticed the MODx extensions, which among other things provided web user authentication. So the web user feature is pretty much still based on the original bolted-on third party extension.

Once you get used to it it’s definitely usable, but it does have its drawbacks.
