Best approach to send HTML emails from MODx

Hi, Building a web app solution in MODx Revo which from time to time needs to send an automated email. I would like to decorate these system emails with a HTML coded / branded header and footer...

What's the best way of achieving this?

I am using modMail to send the mails currently from a snippet

Any ideas?

The example on the ModMail page shows how to send HTML emails. Or did you mean something else?
