Mail SMTP configuration with external Microsoft Exchange Server

Hi,

my customer has an Exchange Server and the SMTP settings doesn't work like normally. The contact form cannot send mails. I got an SMTP connection error. I think the problem is, that the exchange is not an SMTP and needs other access settings, like an domain name for user verification.

The PHPMailer fails also. In this case the external MX entry could be a problem?

Does anybody has experiences with Formit and Microsoft Exchange?

Did you try the QuickEmail extra? It will usually give a better diagnosis of SMTP errors.

QuickMail helps me with debugging. I'll get an SMTP timeout. I change the parameter to 90 seconds, but same error. Seams a problem with the SMTP Connector of Exchange or a firewall issue.

When I deactivate SMTP the error: Mail function could not be initialized.

I'm afraid I don't know enough about the MS Exchange server to be of any more help.
