    Hi,

    I am working on the test form to try and get the Form IT to work but it is not sending to my email when the user submit the form. Once i can get the form working I will build up from there.

    I am completely new to this so bare with me.

    I have install the modx extra and I have added the code to the template for the form. https://www.followthecamino.com/camino-training-february16.

    [[!FormIt?
       &hooks=`email`
       &emailFrom=`[email protected]`
       &emailTpl=`MyEmailChunk`
       &emailTo=`[email protected]`
       &emailSubject=`My First FormIt Form`

    ]]
    <form action="" method="post">

        <label for="name">Name:</label>

        <input type="text" name="name" id="name" value="[[!+fi.name]]">

        <label for="email">Email</label>

        <input type="text" name="email" id="email" value="[[!+fi.email]]">

        <label for="comment">Comment</label>

        <textarea name="comment" id="comment" cols="30" rows="10" value="[[!+fi.comment]]"></textarea>

        <input type="submit" value="Submit">

    </form>

    Chunk file - MyEmailChunk

    This is the Formit Email Chunk.

    <br />[[+name]] ([[+email]]) Wrote: <br />

    [[+text]]

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Magz

      For a start theres no action on your form, might be best to get the standard working then edit it to your requirements

        Hi Paulp,

        Thank you for your quick reply,

        it seems to be working (hopefully) but I would not receive an hour under 6 hours later. I tried company email and my personal email and it is both hours later. Is there a way to make this quicker.

           &emailTo=`[email protected]`

           &validate=`name:required,

          Sounds like an issue with your hosters mail-server.

            Yeh I'm with Bruno on that one, might be worth installing Bob Rays quick email snippet to test everything though

              I've had this happen with particular hosts. I suspect that they save up emails for hours, then send them all.

              One possible solution is to set the MODX SMTP System Settings, and use an SMTP server somewhere else. QuickEmail is often helpful while you're trying to get that working.

              The best solution would be to create a FormIt postHook that uses Mailgun, Mandrill, MailChimp, or some other service, and use that instead of the email hook, but that's a very tall order. It would bypass your host's email service altogether and give you lots of interesting information (e.g., opens and clicks).
