I'm a complete new user of MODX - looking at some SEO for a friend. How do I change the meta title, without changing the page title on the navigation menu - for example if I want to change 'HOME' to 'XXX Product to change your life', as a meta title (for Google and other search engines), without 'XXX Product to change your life' becoming a page title - how do I do it?
Is it the 'Long Title' and does this get indexed by Google? Any help appreciated - I am not a programmer, so please simple terms!!
The MODX is Revolution 2.4.2-pl
if the longtitle is unused, you could use the longtitle or create a Template-Variable for the title - metatag.
with longtitle, you could put it this way into the template:
[[*longtitle:isnot=``:then=`[[*longtitle]]`:else=`[[*pagetitle]]`]]
This would use the longtitle, if not empty, otherwise it would still use the pagetitle.
With a TV:
[[*metatitle:isnot=``:then=`[[*metatitle]]`:else=`[[*pagetitle]]`]]
Google will definitely index the longtitle's content if it is part of the meta title tag.
Make sure to include the tags in the templates. Changing fields in Modx is useless of the tags are not defined.
