Hi, this is my first contact with MODX and I have committed to host a site for a client. I had some 500 internal server errors to begin with but they appear to have been permission related and the site is now available - well sort of - only the home page loads. All other pages can't be found. I would have assumed a .htaccess issue and I have tried both the file that came with the site (from the old host and the default htaccess settings recommended in the knowledge base. I thought I'd try to turn off the friendly urls to see if that confirms it to be a htaccess issue but I can't find where this is done.

Any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this?

The site is currently here: www.minimastersports.com [ed. note: olaandersson last edited this post 10 years, 4 months ago.]

This is almost certainly a simple path problem. Did you run setup after moving the site? That will usually (but not always) correct the paths.

If setup doesn't do it, the first thing to try is deleting all files in the core/cache directory.

You can turn off the Friendly URLs in the database in the modx_system_settings table. The setting is friendly_urls. Change the value from 1 to 0, rename .htaccess something else so there's no .htaccess file, then delete all files in the core/cache directory.

Take a look at the home page source code (View Source in your browser). Look at the base href tag in the head. There's a good chance that it's missing or incorrect.

Thanks BobRay - I did try to rerun set up and deleted cache. However I will have a look at the paths again and thanks for the pointer regarding the friendly URL's. I will let you know how I get on. Appreciate your time. Thanks

What is the Rewrite Base line in your .htaccess file?

And what is the "Friendly URLs" part?
