    Hello,
I’m looking for a simple web-to-print solution based on MODx and I’d like to get feedback from the community and I’d like to find out if similar solutions already exist and/or are under way.
My idea is to create a web-to-print module or plugin in MODx that would export content to XML so it can be imported/exported into/from InDesign and/or Quark. That would be the first step in using MODx as a one-stop solution for publishing. Going back and forth between web and print would be essential in this scenario.

Anyway, input and suggestions are more than welcome.
    Thanks for your input.

    Eric

Very interested in this as well, particularly for integration with AppleScripted InDesign publishing. This type of project is never simple, though. wink

I am working on the opposite right now. Taking a PDF and converting it into modx documents.

I think I will follow this thread. We have some customers with product catalogs which need to be shown on a website smiley

There seem to be a solution using Drupal... Check http://groups.drupal.org/node%252F8550 but I can’t find anything in MODx. It looks like I’ll have to start from scratch as I prefer MODx over Drupal smiley
            Any comments?

I’ve done work with Apache FOP in the past and it does some amazing stuff for template-based catalog building. Nimja on the forums has some interesting PDF things going that use exisitng PDF files as "templates" on which you plug in variable information ... even multiple pages. Currently we (Collabpad) have some XHTML/CSS driven arbitrary length PDF code that works really well, but it doesn’t work with vector graphics, which make doing some types of pages frustrating.
