Look, its not a stretch to say that Login extra has some issues. Its old, it has serious weaknesses, and its really hard to debug. No piece of software can last forever, and some get old a bit more quickly. I know it does still work and work well for many, my friend did some work with my snippet and had no trouble. So, its not broken software by any means. But, its not being maintained afaik and seems unlikely to have much of a future.
TBH I have never used Subscribe, because I discovered it after I had finished wrestling with Login.
We all hope the community can make the on-ramp to Revo as simple as possible, to make it easier to get into Revo. We all I think know that the possibilities are quite limitless with Revo, so if the entrance is wide open and accessible...that's a good combo. Even with the power of Revo, if the entrance is challenging then the user base can't be too large.
Let me put it this way, is there any group of new users that shouldn't use Subscribe to save their time? Given the limitations of Login I wonder if its not just better to use Subscribe for most users...its newbietalk but its important to grow the userbase.
BTW I realize that Subscribe uses Login to do stuff, and does not replace it. But I figure it ensures avoiding the potential problems that Login brings. New users need less problems getting started, and if there are some limitations on that, then they can dip into the weeds, but the main path still needs to be there...
