data import from forum

Hi i am after some help i use to use smarty and now moved to modx one thing with smarty the {content} made it so you could access data from the forum ie a news post and display it on the main site to the web so when news post were placed it would show them to a max of ten on the website is there a way to do this in modx as well ?

If the forum is entirely in MODx, you can use the Ditto snippet to display posts, or summaries of posts in pretty much any format.

If the forum is outside of MODx, (e.g. SMF), I’m not sure if Ditto can grab them directly without some custom programming.

do you mean recode in ditto or the forum as i am not a great coder but ill give anything ago

I meant that you might either have to add custom code to Ditto or write a custom snippet of your own to get the posts. What forum are you using?
