Hi all,
I’ve made a few modx sites on dreamhost but I’m in the process of moving to a different host.
I have recreated the databases over to the new server but my problems start when I copy the files. What I do is create a tarball of my modx installation on dreamhost, I ftp it to the new server and untar it.
However, when I try to access the manager I get the following:
Warning: include_once(config.inc.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/vhosts/nak-soo.co.uk/httpdocs/manager/index.php on line 127
Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening ’config.inc.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’/var/www/vhosts/nak-soo.co.uk/httpdocs/manager/includes/’) in /var/www/vhosts/nak-soo.co.uk/httpdocs/manager/index.php on line 127
Warning: DocumentParser::include_once(MODX_BASE_PATHmanager/includes/extenders/dbapi..class.inc.php) [function.DocumentParser-include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/vhosts/nak-soo.co.uk/httpdocs/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php on line 39
Warning: DocumentParser::include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening ’MODX_BASE_PATHmanager/includes/extenders/dbapi..class.inc.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’/var/www/vhosts/nak-soo.co.uk/httpdocs/manager/includes/’) in /var/www/vhosts/nak-soo.co.uk/httpdocs/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php on line 39
Could not load DBAPI class.
I checked the permissions and config.inc.php had only owner read permissions. When I changed that it went a bit further... Then I changed the permissions to some other files until I sort of got it to work... but with problems.
I’m not really experienced with all these... but I’ve tried for hours and I’m getting nowhere fast. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me.
Thanks,
James
Hi,
Seems like you have incorrect paths and/or files missing in your install....did you remember to change the paths to your modx install when you changed hosts?
Have you checked that all files were copied over correctly?
It is also helpful to know your server environment: what version php, apache, MySQL, etc..
What about your database, did you move that successfully to the new server?
/k
Thanks for your reply!
The dreamhost server (where I have my websites at the moment) has the following:
Apache/2.0.61 (Unix) PHP/4.4.7 mod_ssl/2.0.61 OpenSSL/0.9.7e mod_fastcgi/2.4.2 DAV/2 SVN/1.4.2
MySQL 5.0.16
The host I’m moving to has:
Apache/2.2.3 (Debian) DAV/2 SVN/1.4.2 mod_jk/1.2.18 mod_python/3.2.10 Python/2.4.4 PHP/5.2.0-8+etch7 mod_ssl/2.2.3 OpenSSL/0.9.8c mod_perl/2.0.2 Perl/v5.8.8
There aren’t any missing files. When I go into index.php in the manager directory and edit line 127 to include the path of config.inc.php it finds it, but this time it cannot access it. That is because the file’s permissions are read only by owner. When I change it to 644 it works and then gets stuck on document.parser.class.inc.php. I change its permissions to 644 too and then it works just fine... at least as far as I can see.
So, the only thing that bugs me is why do I need to edit /manager/index.php... I must be doing something wrong... or forgetting something.
Any thoughts?
What’s the version of your MySQL in your new host, btw? if it is MySQL 5.0.51.....that has been known to cause issues to...
When you change your file permission, do they stick or they revert back to previous values? If this is the case then it be something to do with your host’s configuration. I know this is not very helpful but I suppose we may have to go about this through a process of elimination....
