    Hi all,

I’m trying to simply set up a few document groups tied to manager user groups, in order to create some manager users that can only access and edit certain documents.

I’ve never had occasion to set this kind of permission structure up before and thought I knew how to do it, but now I’m lost!

The basic problem is this - since User A doesn’t have access to the root document, the manager is hiding it from them in the site tree, and therefore they can’t see _any_ documents in the site tree, even though there are some on lower branches of the tree that they should have access to.

I have spent 45 minutes going through the wiki, the official docs, several other sites, and the forums here, and can not find out what I’m doing wrong. Everything old is n00b again ;-)

Thanks in advance for any light shed on this subject.

There is a setting in the Site Settings that allows private pages to be viewed. Otherwise I think that you would need to create a ’path’ of containers with the correct permissions all the way back to the root.

A way to set the tree ’root’ on a per user basis would be a nice feature.
