Hey all, I just realized that comments are a huge problem for these big site companies, all the options suck a little bit, talking about well facebook and disqus and this sort of stuff.

How does Modx fare here? I am a supporter of the forum software we are using here, Discuss, which obviously handles comments but not as a stand-alone service. Plus its not being developed, although alpha Discuss2 is in the public repos smiley

Is there a Modx extra I can stick at the bottom of my page content template and "get" a commenting system?

      Maybe Quip is your option:

        peace&love / bike&ride

I like MODXTalks, although it's been a while since it got any attention. There is also Tickets from modstore.pro - it's from the Russian community, so you need to translate the pages if you don't read Russian.

Thank you both for the info. Good to know options do exist.

I'm looking to implement a standalone comment system also.

I just tried ModxTalks but I uninstalled it already, it was messing up the page url's.

Tickets looks the best available option but I cannot find any English documentation.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

You really don't need documentation to get started on Tickets (the best blog/comment for MODX).

Use google translate, and as you get better, help create the English doc for this great Extra.
At least that is my goal.
