On a plain vanilla install of Modx, some (don’t know if all) snippets return an incorrect path.
F.e. FileDownload (as mentioned http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,5419.msg174938.html#msg174938) links to my documents as:

    mydomain.com/alias/urltofile.pdf

while the correct url would be:

    mydomain.com/urltofile.pdf

I’ve encountered the same issue with eForm.

    Is this a setting somewhere?

    Thanks.

Hi, would someone have an answer to this, or a hint in a possible direction?

      Thanks!

Can you narrow it down to which snippets generate the incorrect path?
Does Wayfinder output the menu correctly?
Do you have FURL’s enabled and a modified .htaccees file?

F.e. EForm only works with this code:

          <form method="post" action="/[~[*id*]~]">

(mind the forward slash at the beginning). In all examples (f.e. on the Wiki), this slash isn’t there. I only got it to work *with* this slash.

Wayfinder outputs the right menu without trouble or modification.

Ive looked at the source for FileDownload, but couldn’t find a place where I could easily add a slash (as with Eform).

          Regarding FURL: what is this?
I’ve only modified .htaccess to enable clean urls.

          Thanks for your help.

FURL is Friendly URLs, as set in the MODx Manager’s Configuration utility.

FURL is Friendly URLs e.g. http://mydomain.com/blog.html rather than http://mydomain.com/index.php?id=2
Does your .htaccess file have this line
              RewriteBase /
              ?

I guess I do have FURLS!
I’m unable to check the content of my .htaccess right now, will do later on. But I’m confident I haven’t changed the supplied .htaccess file from installation.

Edit: Stupid, of course I have access to my .htaccess file, through the Modx File Manager!
Edit2: Doesn’t work. When clicking on the floppy button ( to download), it responds with:

You don’t have permission to access /.htaccess on this server.

Should this work from the FIle manager, or is this part of the problem?

                Thanks.

I don’t think you’ll be able to get to the .htacces file through the MODx manager but you should be able to see and edit it through the file manager of your host’s cPanel (or equivalent).

                    It does.
For reference, this is the full .htaccess file.
                    # MODx supports Friendly URLs via this .htaccess file. You must serve web
                    # pages via Apache with mod_rewrite to use this functionality, and you must
                    # change the file name from ht.access to .htaccess.
                    #
                    # Make sure RewriteBase points to the directory where you installed MODx.
                    # E.g., "/modx" if your installation is in a "modx" subdirectory. If you have
                    # problems with your .htaccess working at all, try un-commenting the first

AFAIK this is the .htaccess file as delivered in the installation package.

What would be the next step?

Thanks again for all your help. It’s my 5-th Modx site and I can’t imagine ever using something else.
