All seems to be working OK, apart from package manager which when I click on it, just has a blank space.

PHP Version 5.4.37
cURL support enabled
cURL Information 7.38.0

I have reinstalled a few times, but still the same issue. Tried on chrome, firefox with the same issue. Any ideas?]]>

Is there anything in the MODX error log?

SiteCheck checks the integrity of the transport package records in the DB and can sometimes fix them, though it's not free.

The fact that you see that problem in a fresh install, suggests that that's not the problem, though.

Sometimes the transport packages page takes a very long time to load, so give it plenty of time.

Also, try visiting the site with your browser in incognito or private mode. Sometimes a cookie or something left in the browser cache can mess up some Manager sections.]]>

Did you try the solutions mentioned above?
Yes we have tried these solutions, but no success. Have even tried a clean install that gives the same issue. Any new suggestions on this?]]>

from my support ticket.
I had tried the following but wasn't able to resolve the issue:
- Disabling the firewall
- Disabling Mod Security via WHM (in case cPanel's was buggy)
- Disabling open_basedir protection on "modx.phire.website"

There were no server / error / firewall logs, regarding my domain. Does anyone know what else I can check? and if there is a manual work around? Thanks Jon

EDIT :

My host suggested trying this.
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18966365/modx-package-management-not-showing-up

compress js and compress css to off in MODx settings
clear browser cache / cookies + clear MODx cache.

It worked!

They are pretty good hosts! They always go the extra mile.

Will uploading to core/packages and unzipping do anything?]]>

I still suspect a mod_security or some other server-side security setting blocking the access to the MODX repository site, preventing the Manager from making the version checks to check for updated versions. You would need to look at the server's logs to find out if this is the case. You probably don't have access to those logs, so you should ask your hosting tech support about it.

Thanks.

mod security, can be turned off in cpanel, so i had already turned it off for the root domain and the sub-domain i'm using for my modx site.

I will contact my host provider to see if they can shed any light on the situation.

If they can find an issue, i'll post back. if they can't find an issue i'll also post back =)
