If you are looking for a host with servers in close proximity to Italy, a few of Bob's recommended hosts offer Europe servers. Early on it seemed that every hosting company I used started out pretty good, then gradually over a few years overloaded their servers and became bogged down with too many customers to support well. Email also often becomes a problem the bigger a hosting company's load becomes, the main reason I quit Bluehost some years ago was that their mail servers were constantly getting blacklisted from the spammers or hacked sites sending out spam. In hindsight, for a MODx site, I would probably vote against goDaddy, and recommend a MODx friendly host. For me, it's a reseller plan at Skytoaster. I'm sure there are other worthy MODx friendly hosts, but I can only speak based on my own positive experience with Skytoaster.

Skytoaster has been excellent, without issue. Updates easier too with Softaculous. Backups with the cPanel are a breeze. Great support.
