Jako, your question about files with umlauts prompted me to take a closer look at the contents of the files directory. It turns out someone created a symlink to (drumroll) files->files! So it was caught in an endless loop. I deleted the dreaded infinite-looping symlink and all is well.

Yes, the browser opens with the URL looking like:

http://mydomain.com/manager/media/browser/mcpuk/browse.php?opener=tinymce&type=files

and the assets/files has permissions set to 777. I've also checked the permissions and ownership on the files within assets/files and manager/media/browser etc.

I've renamed my old manager/media folder and copied a fresh version from the 1.0.12 install, which should have the permissions set as they are supposed to....

This KCFinder window searches the files in assets/files here. Similar to other posts I'm having an issue with KCFinder not working in 1.0.12. When a user clicks on the Add/edit link button from TinyMCE, then clicks the browse button next to the URL field KCFinder is launched in a new window but never loads the directory listing or files.

Strangely KCFinder loads just fine when browsing for an image using the Add/edit image feature of TinyMCE. So far I've:

• Checked my permissions on the server
• replaced my manager/media folder with a clean copy from the distribution zip
• Re-installed 1.0.12
• Searched through the forums and googled the issue to see if there's already a solution posted

I'm usually pretty successful at troubleshooting things like this but in this case I'm stumped. Any thoughts?

PHP Version 5.3.2-1
MySQL 5.1.72
TinyMCE 3.5.8 (fresh install)
