As far as for configuration, I've never had a complaint. I would not say to stay away from them at all, and if you must choose a big name host to expect good service and competent MODX hosting at Hostgator.

It deserves to be said, that I currently use Hostgator for my MODX sites, and I am not displeased with them in any way. They're the only host I've used that doesn't employ ghosts to do strange things to your php version or change server paths arbitrarily.

I would stay away from Hostgator - I have used them for MODX sites and sometime they act weird.. Skytoaster is a much better fit and knowing they are also MODX users/professionals helps too. smiley All the other hosters seem to be either Wordpress or Drupal specialists.. I assume they aren't Voodoo Donuts, they discovered that donuts don't do well on planes Voodoo or no... and as such, do not ship. (flat donuts!)

I've tried some of them there southern donuts... darn good fresh at 3am. We do in fact offer reseller options, they just aren't publicly listed as we limit the servers used for that purpose. Our VPS servers are also reseller oriented, as we handle all of the heavy lifting for you.
