the list brandonhim posted above is great. I'd also add Collections to the list, along with Jason Grant's Extras PThumb and setPlaceholders.

MigX is where I'd start though, since it prob has the biggest learning curve, but it's tremendous once it clicks for you. If you have any questions with it, feel free to reach out to me (PM), I'd be happy to answer or help. I've gotten so much help from others over the years...

Start with:
To get your feet wet:
http://rtfm.modx.com/revolution/2.x/getting-started/video-quick-start-series/
http://develop.modx.com/develop/revolution/quickstart/

To develop a zero-to-start site:
http://codingpad.maryspad.com/2010/08/18/modx-revolution-for-beginners-part-1-introduction/

Then of course references:
http://bobsguides.com/
Susan Ottwell's Cookbook.
http://modxcookbook.com/add-ons/menus/

and if you could get your hands on the
The Official MODx Guide by Bob Ray <-- This has helped me tremendously

or if you are like me,
find a free MODx template, and reverse engineer it and learn from how they are implementing certain features.

Essential Extras you should learn: beadcrumb, Wayfinder, MIGx, clientconfig
(Those would be enough to get you building a solid foundation for a site.)

Feel free to DM if you have questions.]]>

I'm currently based in Philadelphia, and MODX was just recently integrated within my current job. So it would be great to learn a few tips, pointers, and optimizations for our existing sites and my own knowledge.]]>

<![CDATA[Re: MODX Meetup - Allentown, PA to Central, NJ]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/80721/modx-meetup---allentown-pa-to-central-nj#dis-post-520255 I'm based in Central NJ.

Anyone interested in getting a MODX meetup going somewhere in Eastern, PA - Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton or perhaps in Central New Jersey somewhere along the Route 78 corridor? Anywhere from the PA border to New York City would probably work.

It would be great to get to know some other MODX users and find out how they work, what tricks they know and more. Twitter and the Forums are great, but it would be a big help to have local users to bounce issues and ideas off of.]]>
