You need to read through the Gallery.GalleryItem info:

http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Gallery.GalleryItem

and look at the tpl property.

is there a way to control the link for the main image (not thumbnail) of the gallery - i want it to go somewhere else instead of advancing through to the next gallery image. right now my gallery call in my template looks like this:

[[!Gallery? &album=`Home` &toPlaceholder=`gallery` &imageWidth=`960` &imageHeight=`320` &plugin=`galleriffic`]]
[[+gallery]]
