A project that I have been working on is now at a point where I want to deploy but can't do so due to the quirkiness and unstable state that the file manager is in. Telling my user to avoid using foreign characters in image names at all costs or suffer the consequences isn't really a viable strategy at this point.
Try attached modification to MCPUK file upload:
(manager/media/browser/mcpuk/connectors/php/Commands/FileUpload.php)
It modifies uploaded file names by transliterating them in the same way TransAlias plugin
does with new documents URL alias (Common table).
I'm trying to load additional options from site configuration right now.

It looks like attachments were lost in forum transition, here is the modified file:

Show us Evo Jira tickets you created... wink

Thanks, I was considering wiring together file upload with the transliterate function but never got around to do it. Kudos to you for doing it! smiley As a quick hack it should work quite well but doesn’t feel like a long term solution.

I’m not quite sure how the JIRA-system is meant to function.. I created these two tickets:
http://svn.modxcms.com/jira/browse/ADDON-79
http://svn.modxcms.com/jira/browse/ADDON-80

Maybe I made a mess.. huh

Have you considered using on of the commercial (but relatively inexpensive) options? From Moxiecode.com or ckeditor.com?

I haven’t, maybe I should. I’ll go have a look if the above doesn’t work smiley]]>

Is there any way I can get around the problem in the meantime? Would a migration to Revolution avoid the issue?
Please, I’m quite desperate tongue

As reported here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,39380.0.html and here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,39750.0.html there are some yet unresolved issues that I believe is critical. I’ve registered and filled a JIRA-report, and would love to further help out in any way I possibly can but I’m not sure what difference it makes.
