I do exactly what Deaver said, but I use the last FckEditor (2.6.2) that I downloaded from Modx (0.9.6.3) repository : http://modxcms.com/FCKEditor-583.html.

After install, I got this :

Setup will now attempt to setup the database:
Creating connection to the database: OK!
Selecting database `mycms`: OK!
Plugin:
FCKEditor: Installed

Fatal error: Call to a member function getFullTableName() on a non-object in F:\Mydata\MyWeb\mymodx.com\www\manager\processors\cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 100

And I can’t find FckEditor at Manager area (after login to backend).
Why ?

Thanks.
Best Regards,

<![CDATA[Re: unable to install fckeditor]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/46286/unable-to-install-fckeditor#dis-post-267547 a lot of users of modx are facing such problems when they download it from fckeditor.net.
In such a situation the remedy is go to Resources/manage resources/plugin==> add new plug in . and one requires a code to enter it in plugin(php) window.If one gets the code it may work without need to install .
I am not sure whether it is ok.

1- Download the zip file and extract all files to your harddrive (I find the desktop a good place);
2- You’ll now have a folder called "FCKEditor_2.6b";
3- Look inside this folder to find two folders: "assets" and "install";
4- Copy the whole "install" folder to your site’s root folder (if you have the original MODx install folder still there, you need to temporarily rename that);
5- Now open the "assets" folder inside the "FCKEditor_2.6b" folder;
6- You’ll find a "plugins" folder in there. Open it;
7- There’s a "fckeditor26b" folder inside;
8- Copy this "fckeditor26b" folder and paste it in the "assets>plugins" folder of your MODx site (notice there is already a "tinymce212" folder in there);
9- Now run the installer (http://www.yoursite.com/install/).

Done, you should now be able to select FCK Editor from the list of editors.

I hope this helps someone... It took me a while to figure it out smiley

<![CDATA[Re: unable to install fckeditor]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/46286/unable-to-install-fckeditor#dis-post-267544
you need to upload the install folder (from the modx download) to the root of your modx install
chas, I have to say that confused me. It should read the install folder from the "MODx FCKeditor download", not the MODx download. That implies it should be from the MODx 0.9.6.1p2 download, which I, as a newbie dummie, did with no joy.

OK, the FCKEditor shouted "install successful!" after I figured this out, the culmination of a nice chunk of time navigating through the entire "gotcha" journey.

Now whether I choose FCKeditor or TinyMCE in the Tools/Configuration window on the Manager page, I get lots of warning alerts.

Pardon the long quote:
Warning: include_once(/home/donschae/www/www/modx/assets/plugins/fckeditor261/fckeditor.lang.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/donschae/www/www/modx/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(745) : eval()’d code on line 17

Fatal error: Call to undefined function getFCKEditorSettings() in /home/donschae/www/www/modx/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(745) : eval()’d code on line 56
The same error is reported from Resources/Manage Resources.

So what do I do now? Call my therapist for an hour chat, forget CMS and watch TV, install WordPress?

keimpe:
Perhaps a nice idea to add this little info to: http://modxcms.com/FCKEditor-583.html??
Thanks. Truer words were never spoken. smiley
