When I get the list of documents edited by client I can click an icon or a link to get this document. It would be more convenient in sites with lots of pages getting an additional information where this document is located in the tree. Like a page trail or so. Sometimes it’s difficult to find the document’s parent folder.

Nothing will ever prohibit you from installing this into your sites though so I fail to see how core integration is a limiting factor. If you’re talking about convenience, well that’s another issue entirely.
