I found this thread by doing a search for backing up modx and this is what came up.

I’d assumed it was a support thread as it gives the download and install instructions as the start of the thread.

Anyway, I’ve found BkupMODX, I’ll install that and see how i go.

That’s obviously not the config file and there is no actual config.php file in downloaded package.

So now I’m more confused than than when I started.

You say you have to rewrite the directory path for the backup directory.

Is that for every instance of $modx_backup_dir in both the template and the php file? as there are many instances of it.

The backup directory value is stored in the config.inc.php file. I’ve copied the template file into the module manager, but there doesn’t seem to be any control panel or buttons to push to generate a backup.

What’s it supposed to look like?
