@Bob,

yeh that's what I did,which is why I'm bemused as to why one chunk works and the other doesn't.

Anyway, as I said I've got one version working, so no dramas that's all I need.

I'll figure out what I missed on the other one later.

You probably know this, but it's a good idea to have the two chunks be identical at first.

Once it's working, you can gradually change the new one -- checking often to see if you've broken something.

I meant chunk.

And as I indicated above I only changed the part inside the backticks.

One chunk works the other doesn't, but at least I have one permutation working.

I'll figure out where I went wrong with the original chunk eventually.

Did you really create a template as you said? That definitely wouldn't work. You have to create a *chunk* (AKA Tpl Chunk) with that name (and I'd advise using cut-and-paste for the name). Also, be sure you don't change the property name (the part with the & sign), just change the part inside the back-ticks.

yeah I always try to look closely at the chunk and template names but usually my eyes just glaze over (lol)

As I said, just changing the template to lgnActivateEmailTpl in the call worked.

So at least I know everything else is all ok.

But when I created a new template called ActivateEmailTpl as per the original setup instructions and changed the call back to the original I still got a blank email.

Guess I'll have to break out the magnifying glass and try and see where I missed something. (fun)

It's almost certain to be a typo of some sort, somewhere. If you create new chunks and change the template again, do you still get a blank email?

I didn't understand the explanation correctly, sorry.

I know that, that's why I created new chunks and changed the names.

It still doesn't explain why it didn't work the other way around.

Maybe because lgnActivateEmailTpl and ActivateEmailTpl are two different names? Typos and forgotten template chunks are my specialty... :~}

OK,

I tried changing the original template calll to lgnActivateEmailTpl and that's worked

IE

&activationEmailTpl=` lgnActivateEmailTpl`

Not sure why it wouldn't work previously when I created a new ActivateEmailTpl template though.

Someone enlighten me so that I'm not completely stumbling around in the dark here.

HELP

I'm getting the dreaded blank email.

Everything else is working fine.

I saw this item in the Tute

The cause is almost certainly that you do not have a Chunk by the name listed for the &activationEmailTpl parameter. The default install of the Login package uses a Chunk named lgnActivateEmailTpl, whereas the tutorial here used one named ActivateEmailTpl.

So I tried creating a new chunk called ActivateEmailTpl. and I still got a blank email.

I've tried 7 different variations with no luck.

As I'm not a programmer can someone please tell me what I need to do?
