It was indeed file permissions. I thougt I checked and rechecked, but obviously coudn’t see the wood for the trees.
The erronious code has disappear, but I still can’t log in.

Like above I can get in through the fogotten password link, I’ve even edited and uneditted the login.processor.php as per one of the earlier post. Hoping it would reset things, but no joy.

Installation goes through fine, but whenit completes and proceeds to the manager login page, I see and awful lot of code at the top that I’ve not seen before on previous installations:

The login box is still present, but when enter the us and pw I get this error message:

Obviously, there’s something a miss somewhere, but I’ve check, rechecked file permissions and reinstalled, but I get the same error.

Have I missed something obviuos?

I have seven or eight modx sites running and This one is a problem. I can never login to the manager on this one site.

However when I click "Forgot your password?" it logs me right in.

I designed the site in MODx 0.9.6.2 I thought it might be a bug so after two months I upgraded to MODx 0.9.6.3 and the same problem persists.

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS?

It kind of smells like a session problem or something weird with left-over cookies from a previous install. I added a few echo statements to login.processor.php to try to track the problem, then removed said echo statements... and the login option is now working perfectly. I haven’t the faintest notion why.
