I know when I download 15 open source packages in a week and don’t get around to installing them all very quickly, I don’t want to have to go look for install docs on a web site I have’t visited in a month to figure out what to do with it. If you wouldn’t mind entering this as a feature request at http://modxcms.com/bugs/, we’d greatly appreciate it; otherwise we might forget to do it for another year.
