I have question to WebCEO users.

Getting inaccurate ranking for many websites.

We have so many projects being tracked in Google AU SE and we see too much ranking change ( both positive and negative ) but all inaccurate from WebCEO. Our Manual Testing result matched correctly with Google where as WebCEO results inaccurate.

Eg 1: Website:www.scottmorton.com.au

Best wedding photography Melbourne - WebCEO Rank: 61 - Manual Rank: 19

Eg 2: Website: www.milesaheadblindsandawnings.com.au

retractable awnings - WebCEO Rank: 14 - Manual Rank: 35

similarly for all other projects.

Why this is happening? Please share your views.]]>

I’ve used webceo with clients for years.

Mainly ’cos it’s a very cheap and easy traffic analytics system.

The clients like it ’cos it’s pretty simple to figure out and use.

However, the analytics are not that sophisticated.

Also, now with Google analytics and Microsoft’s free analytics packages around, this part of it’s usefulness has dimmed, although as a cheap backup solution it can’t be beat.

The SEO functions, on the other hand, seem to be on a par with webposition gold and other seo packages, and the price is about the same (a couple a $100 from memory. And there’s also a subscription service.)

Their support is very good. Usually you will get a response back in 24 hours, no matter how inane your question seems to be.

You’ll figure out soon enough that they are all based in Russia as they have these incredible Russian names. (Although that could be a marketing ploy).

And the software is updated fairly regularly.]]>

I submitted a request to WebCeo regarding this niggle. There reply was I shouldn’t be using WebCeo against the local version I should be using it against the online version. Which kind of make sense. I just thought it would be quicker to do a first pass scan offline first.

Anyway I changed the application to scan online site and it works as it should. You just need to make your changes (per the WebCeo recommendations) outside of WebCeo.

I installed it out of curiosity and for the fact similar apps don’t let you do anything without catching you out with an expiry before you understood what your doing with it! It’s free version so it will be interesting what it recommends.

I am going to download and test webceo now, I have heard of it but never used it. There are many great SEO tools out there - free and some open source, too. What info are you looking for? I am an SEO myself, and I’d be glad to point you to some other useful tools etc. if you can tell me the type of data you hope to get with such tools, or even give you some advice.]]>

I also haven’t found any of these ’SEO’ applications that are primarily free to test with local versions of MODx so not sure if this is a common issue with .php sites..]]>

<![CDATA[Webceo]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/16905/webceo#dis-post-91717 www.WebCEO.com and I want to be able to run it against my MODx site.

The problem I’m getting is when go through the feature that requires a scan for a local copy on my XAMPP install it tried to open the .php rather then read it. Try’s to read C:\xmapp\htdocs\modx\index.php and not http://localhost/modx..

It’s driving me mad has anyone been able to use this on there MODx site without it trying to open the .php pages or recommend something similar that works with MODx]]>
