If I have a Spanish context and within that context, I'm linking URLs to [[~30]] for example .. and the site is HTTPS vs HTTP (used to be HTTP now is HTTPS) ... why wouldn't the URLs that are MODX [[~30]] link to the https URL?

The base URL in the <head> is
<base href="[[*context_key:is=`Spanish`:then=`//www.thedomain.com/es/`:else=`//www.thedomain.com/`]]" />
