Try manually deleting all files in the core/cache directory.

BTW, have you looked at the UpgradeMODX extra? It might make things a lot easier when it's time to upgrade.

Wow GREAT! Thank you very much! I read about this UpgradeMODX but I didn't realise that it's an Extra to install.

Thanks again, now I have 2.6.5. I will continue, I have some other sites to upgrade...
God bless you and your team!]]>

<![CDATA[Re: Upgrading to 2.6.5.]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104120/upgrading-to-2-6-5#dis-post-559977 Now I did my new installation as described, but in the manager it's still written Modx Revolution 2.5.1-pl instead of 2.6.5
Why?

Thank you for any explanation

<![CDATA[Re: Upgrading to 2.6.5.]]> https://forums.modx.com/thread/104120/upgrading-to-2-6-5#dis-post-559972 Thank you for your answer. I did a new installation because I never managed to upgrade an existing site directly :-(
I missed to install the Extra ACE (I didn't want it anymore), that's why I had this error-message, but only if I wanted to connect to the manager.
I tried to do a new setup (Upgrade) but it didn't work.
I am going to reinstall the 2.6.5 Version new - with an empty Database - and then install all my Extras.
Then I will copy my assets in the assets Folder, import the Database of my former version, and change the ht.access in .htaccess.
Then it should work !

Perhaps one day, I will manage to do a direct upgrade !

Thanks again]]>

Hello,
I tried again, and now I see this:
Fatal error: Call to a member function initialize() on null in .../core/cache/includes/elements/modplugin/2.include.cache.php on line 26
Can someone help me?

Thank you
Irène

Could you please share here what plugin(plugin ID=2) code do you have on line 26?]]>
