Hi, I installed modx on a shared cpanel ( with dedicated IP)

All seems to be working OK, apart from package manager which when I click on it, just has a blank space.

    PHP Version 5.4.37
    cURL support enabled
    cURL Information 7.38.0

I have reinstalled a few times, but still the same issue. Tried on chrome, firefox with the same issue. Any ideas? [ed. note: jonoiv last edited this post 8 years, 11 months ago.]
    • Take a look at the error logs. I suspect some kind of server security block on MODX's attempt to access the repository.

        Nothing in the error log.

        Just a couple of 404's for a site on a different sub-domain

have you checked the permissions? Especially core/cache and manager?

Have you looked in the MODX error log as there shouldn't be anything in there for other sites ? Manage >> Reports >> Error Log

Changed manger and core/cache to 777, for testing but still the same issue. [ed. note: jonoiv last edited this post 8 years, 11 months ago.]

                Thanks, it just says...

                Error Log

Here is the error log for MODX Revolution:

and a blank text box underneath
                • I still suspect a mod_security or some other server-side security setting blocking the access to the MODX repository site, preventing the Manager from making the version checks to check for updated versions. You would need to look at the server's logs to find out if this is the case. You probably don't have access to those logs, so you should ask your hosting tech support about it.

                    Thanks.

mod security, can be turned off in cpanel, so i had already turned it off for the root domain and the sub-domain i'm using for my modx site.

I will contact my host provider to see if they can shed any light on the situation.

If they can find an issue, i'll post back. if they can't find an issue i'll also post back =)

Just in case I can't resolve this issue, is there a way to manually add package?

Will uploading to core/packages and unzipping do anything?
