Since the site is backed up, you could also just delete all the old core files except config.inc.php (being careful not to overwrite it when you copy in the new files).
I think further steps would be necessary if you've renamed the manager and/or connectors directories.
I rename manager and connector folder and move core folder above root... The last step is running the MODX installer to upgrade those directories.
@mewolari I believe @clareoconsulting answered that question.
@mrhaw: Did UpgradeMODX work for you on the site with the moved and renamed directories?
I haven't tried it yet, Bob. I always rename manager, connectors and move up core folder above root. I will report back when I find a site I can upgrade!
Be aware that 2.4.0 has reversed the handling of OnBeforeManagerLogin. This breaks the Captcha plugin and you won't be able to log in if the Captcha plugin is enabled (even if captcha_enabled is turned off).
Wow, thanks for the heads up!!
Here is another one: https://github.com/modxcms/revolution/issues/12580
BOB!! It works amazingly well!!
I have core outside root, manager and connector folder renamed!
Thanks. BTW, I think 2.4.1 fixes the Captcha bug, but I'm not sure.
