      Same here. Any updates?
        ...
      • The only status page for cloud I am aware of would be http://status.markhamstra.com/, granted this is independant and may have incorrect information.

If you haven't already you might try submitting a ticket with them.

            Thanks all,
They came back within 30 mins, got a support email from Ryan saying they are looking into the outage.
Thanks for the link Patrick - bookmarked.
            • All of my clouds at their Amsterdam location also went down today for around 45 mins sad I tweeted to both the official @modx Twitter account and also the @modxcloud account but I didn't get any response.

Is this forum still considered "official"? Does the team currently working on Cloud check these pages?

I think not having a status page after the service has been running for so long is becoming annoying and unprofessional. I've never heard of a hosting provider without a dedicated service uptime page.

Even a simple, free Tumblr account would be worth setting up. At least then when an engineer begins fixing a problem the Cloud users know the issue is being dealt with.

Maybe Mark would be kind enough to open-source his uptime page so the Cloud team can setup their own?

              • Adam,

Since regrouping with the MODX team, and as current lead of MODX Cloud, I have to be honest and admit that I have been focused only on the official support channel, and have not been regularly monitoring this forum, or twitter. That is changing as of this moment.

                All,

Our Amsterdam data center provider conducted some maintenance yesterday on a hardware firewall that I believed to be outside of our network. The fact that I was wrong about that, and that the outage was 49 minutes instead of the projected 10, is something that I am looking into.

Overall, there is an obvious need for a status page, and we need to do a better job of communicating (and scheduling) potential service disruptions. We have been hard at work in the last month solving some performance bottlenecks, and have had some great wins. The fact that we are still registering downtime (e.g. response times greater than 5 seconds) in pingdom and other monitoring services, when the servers should be running just fine, is evidence that our job is not yet complete.

                • Mike, thanks for being so frank and open about this.

If Cloud wasn't a special MODX-specific hosting service I would have moved on by now, over the years I've left a hosting provider for less than this.

But I appreciate there are some teething issues and also internal politics that you guys are going through so I'm willing to stick with it for a while longer.

What's your ETA on getting a status page up?

All the best for your team with getting the servers back up and running. I'll keep an eye on this thread for the status page link...we're going to use MODx Cloud for our next client website so I would love to know about this as well.

I appreciate the comments, Adam and Sar. What I can tell you is that getting a meaningful status page in place has just been bumped up a couple of spots in the priority queue. I can't put an ETA on it right now. I will report back no later than a week from now with further details.
