The .htaccess file is still there (well, the ht.access file is, just like any other new install), so that doesn't matter. There is no difference to MODx at all. I used to run Evo on BadBlue on Windows. It'll run on any web server, the only trick is the rewrite mechanism for your particular web server.
Thanks Susan! That's good to know. So right now - what is the process for grabbing a zipped folder of site files as well as a database dump from a cloud site?
Isn't one. However, from what I'm told (I haven't had occasion to try it myself yet) you can upload the Vapor scripts and run them, and the resulting package can be installed from any new installation's package manager, replacing the new site with the Vapor package.
Hoping that sounds scarier than it really is (and not the other way around!)
It would be nice if there were a link to download the backups (hint, hint)
This has been my great hesitation about MODX Cloud as a development platform - they have made it so easy to import existing modx installs to the cloud, but once there... it's a one-way street. It would be wonderful if every client we ever encounter agreed to move to the cloud, but that's not at all realistic.

Hi guys,
We'll look into this, but for now, you can easily export a DB using the "mysql" on the command line (by SSHing into your cloud), and then using "tar" to zip it up and download it.
Thanks!

And the ability to restore the site from the downloaded backup.
Yes. Having things done for me in the background where I have no control over them has never been pleasing. This is the one thing I have against the Cloud.

Might there be a tutorial somewhere? You know, for the faint of heart, or in case anyone out there thinks SSHing into the cloud means telling your cloud to hush up?
