Guillaume,
Which part of the documentation ? I’ve been also searching the forums.
Actually, the MODx API would have nothing to do with the Javascript you need to create your AJAX logic, other than possibly generating the XML, JSON, or HTML you wanted to deliver in your AJAX response.
For instance, I recently created a Yahoo Maps AJAX API component and deployed it for a client, generating an XML document representing a GeoRSS feed to plot custom markers on the map. I simply created an XML document in MODx, wrote a quick snippet (PHP) to read the document and TV contents from a single folder in MODx, looping over them and creating the XML for each RSS item in the body of the main XML document. Then I simply used Javascript to make an AJAX request to the XML document in MODx (via URL) to retrieve a dynamically generated GeoRSS feed that the Yahoo Maps API could read, process, and utilize to generate the custom map markers.
No real documentation on this yet. But let’s see what we can identify needs to be documented as we explore these aspects of MODx!

Beware, AJAX is a combination of all kinds of technology available out there.
MODx is part of the server side technology that can ease the development, but you still need the other part of technology, which is javascript knowledge to make this happen.
