Getting a site offline

    I can’get my test site offline. Is there some sort of secret beyond ticking the offline box and using either site unavailable message or site unavailable id ?
    I tried both, it still launched the page id 1 (home)...

      I had to use an empty page as my home in order to set the site offline .

        When you have the site offline and are logged in to the manager the site acts normal so you can work on the site. This is actually a feature of MODx. Try logging out of MODx and viewing the site. You should see your site unavailable message.

            @Susan, can we add this to the documentation?

            Also, maybe we should make it display with the make site unavailable checkbox.

              Agreed, perhaps:
              "You will still be able to view and edit the site while you are logged into the manager"
