There is currently no such path funnctions. Hopefully in TP 3.

Aham.... and about the shorter strings? (zip and state) ??

In the web_user_attributes table, the "state" and "zip" fields are defined as VARCHAR(5). That explains your problem.
You would use this:
$modx->config['base_url']
$modx->config['base_path']
manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php makes interesting reading.

Well that’s nice !!!
Now a question that is a little off-topic...... is there a chance that the response to sha1() or md5() or other hash algorythms for two different words/expressions to be identical ?
